Nothing wrong with Kevin Harlan. He always seems to be in the center of excitement either on radio or tv.
I doubt we will hold the chiefs to 7 or 10 points as you predict. If LJ plays sustantially - even with our improved run defense - i dont see us containing him to 80 yards and one td as you all predict. We haven't even seen this team in a real season game with 4 qtrs of 1 stringers for our team and the opponents, yet everyone is predicing > 20 points blowout. let's be real here. The margin of victory will not be greater than 20 points.
It is very possible. Huard hurt his leg in preseason, so he has very little mobility and LJ still missed a lot of the training camp, so I believe his touches will be much lower that he usually gets. I say 23-10 Texans.
i read something the other day (maybe here) that said Bennett would get the majority of the touches at RB for the Chiefs.
Ladainian Tomlinson is about to go up against the best defense in the NFL... I'm betting he'll have a significantly better performance. No one's saying Bush isn't a good player. But to be a great player -- you know, the kind of slam dunk, how can you even think of taking somebody else No. 1 overall player -- you have to do it game in, game out. He's gotten hype as a great player, and if he doesn't produce like one, there's going to be interest. Besides, for most of last season, the Colts had arguably the worst run defense in the history of football. They might be a bit better, but they're hardly the 2000 Ravens.
if Bush is the greatest prospect ever, he shouldn't need excuses. great players get theirs...even when they go against the greats.
Very true, but he was only hyped as the greatest prospect ever, hasn't shown it so far. He's shown glimpses but never had consecutive monster performances. I'm sure he'll be fine though. And speaking of the Colts good defense, that was all because of the pressure they got up front from Robert Mathis (I think that's his name) and Dwight Freeney who I think are back to their normal dominant selves. They both had down years last year, so when they're playing well the whole Colts defense reflects that.
2006 NFL Rush Defense: If anything, Indy's defense got WORSE this offseason, too. So, when is bashing of the Great Reggie Bush allowed if not after a terrible game against a crappy defense? Geez.
The Colts D played very well on Thurs. However, what I saw was a RB who was afraid to run up the middle. On the first sign of contact, Bush quit moving his feet when he ran up the middle. There were a couple of instances where he could have maybe gotten a few more yards but just stopped running and allowed himself to be tackled. You just can't do that in the NFL.
When Bob Sanders was hurt the Colts run D was historically bad. When he was healthy they were a respectable unit. I think he's one of the best players in league. Their defense last night looked pretty damn fast to the ball. We'll know more about them when they face a coach who remembers that beating the Colts is about keeping Manning off the field by running the damn ball. Not that I'm a bitter owner of Deuce McAllister in a fantasy league, or anything...
