    I agree with you completely.

I could, from playing Defensive Tackle on varsity football, tell, though, that he was too upright too fast. You get that upright that fast, and you'll be pancaked at the line of scrimmage.

The guy does, though, have a great motor. Also, he's young, smart, has great size, and all the natural ability in the world, which never hurts. With him being so young, like they said on the Draft coverage, he should be very coachable. It'll be interesting to see how much of an impact he makes next year.

    I like the pick.

Teams that stick out so far with nice drafts:

    Browns, Bills, and Lions.

I attribute it to him trying to fit in here in America. Nothing against jocks (I was a jock), but when you're new to a country, 13, and trying to fit in at your high school, it's hard not to start talking like some of the other kids at school.

I thought the Falcons have done a very good job so far as well. They shored up their lines with Anderson and Blalock, Houston is also a very athletic CB with good potential.

People on ESPN's draft central thing are writing in asking if Kolb is the worst pick in NFL history. How stupid can you get?

First of all, many people had him rated as the third QB in the draft. Secondly, he's probably the only QB in the draft with the smarts to run an offense of his own at this point. Thirdly, as I've said before, and someone pointed out earlier in this thread, he compares pretty well to Jeff Garcia (although with better size and probably talent), and if I remember correctly, Jeff Garcia played fairly well in the system in Philly.

I think it's a good pick. It's a surprise pick, but as much as McNabb is hurt, as good pick.

    Good job Kolb.

I understand the doubt, and you're right, there's no way to truly tell until the season starts. But I like the move because we're getting a qb NOW, not next year. Meaning the sooner we get a qb developed and used to the system. Otherwise getting a qb next year may not payoff until 2009/2010. Second, Quinn still looks better than any qb prospect that would come out next year. (In my limited knowledge at least.) Third, we're not guaranteed to get the top qb next year depending on the season and how the draft pans out.

Maybe there thinking is that the Eagles could have drafted Kolb later on. I think most people had Stanton higher on the "boards." Besides that, they chose a guy who will be their second string, when they could have gotten a starter, maybe one who could potentially have the impact of player like Demeco Ryans or something.

I don't think everyone is necessarily criticizing Kolb's talent, but are wondering if the Eagles could have been a little smarter with their picks.

I've been helping my parents move all day, but this pick rocks. He's a Nigerian, incredible athlete, and drafted high by Houston. I can't help but love the pick. Amobi and Mario, anchoring the soon to be best DL in the league.

Not sure if it has been posted already but Amobi Okoye is part of Nike's "Briscoe High: Rookie Class" Pormotional Campaign, which included all the top names (Brady, Russell, Adams, Hal, Peterson etc..) in this years draft. There were all interviewed and I highly reccomend you check out his 3 interview clips.

From the sounds of it, not only did we get a stud DT, but we got this team a QB for the defense, the guy just sound like a leader

Check'em out Nike's Briscoe High: Amobi Okoye

Order as follows (L to R) Peterson, Russell, Okoye, C. Johnson, Quinn

I am SO happy for Kolb, I might even become a supporter of the Eagles for it. It came as a shock to me that Kolb was drafted so early. I hope the national media keeps piling it on, itll just give him more motivation to prove everyone wrong.

    From article on Eagles website:
Kolb even called his parents after the Philadelphia visit because he was so pleased with the visit. During his time at Houston, he watched the Eagles' offense - even though he was a Cowboys fan - and noticed how well he'd fit.

"If I can pick one from the beginning, it be this one because they move a lot of guys around, get mismatches, line up in different formations, go a little shotgun," Kolb said. "We did all that stuff at U of H. If they saw, they knew I'd adjust pretty well to what they do. I think it's a perfect fit and hopefully it will work out in the future."

    I hope Kolb the best.

My dad called me from Houston and said that the guys on ESPN pooped in their pants in unison when the name Kevin Kolb was announced.

    Way to go Karl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, this is absurd. Trent Edwards is the LAST of the middle-tier QBs right now and they're still all over him.

Wake the hell up ESPN, your guy isn't as super-duper as you make him out to be.

Could Trent Edwards still be available by our next pick?
