Well things could be worse in life than getting drafted in a lower position for the NFL. Wow, what's your problem? You have a man crush on Quinn or something?
Yeah he came from Nigeria 12 years old and took the school placement test and they put him ninth grade. Went to College at 16 and now is one of the youngest ever to be in the league. So the guys is not only a physical player but he's a smart guy.
I really like this pick. I never thought Amobi would fall to us. I figured he was a goner to Atlanta for sure... The kid is probably the #1 character guy in the draft and has THE most upside of anyone... when you're basically a teenager and you're whoopin' ass on the DL.. you have something special.. Texans defense is going to explode all over 2008.. this is going to be fun to watch..
I've found both his and VY's commercials amusing, because in the end they're both making fun of the Texans.
I love the madden commercial with bush and young. The texans should have waited for the draft before getting shaub. They could have kept a second round pick and taken quinn or at least have made the falcons sweat a little and get a better deal. I think they made a good pick in okoye, but what has matt shaub ever done do give up so much for him and all that money.
I think the Texans wanted Schaub over any player in the draft because they believe after being in the league for a few years, he can come in and immediately be successful. After the last few years, I think that was pretty smart.
Not sure, but I feel pretty confident that Kubiak and Smith just might know a little bit about what they were doing when getting Shaub.
I agree. I think Schaub is a better fit her than either Russell or Quinn. He's ready to play and he's a definitive leader.
To me all they have proven is they are a bunch of idiots for not picking VY. Even if they wanted shaub they could have given a lot less for him by making the falcons think they were going to take quinn.
Bingo. Essentially, the Texans gave up a mid-first round pick for Schaub, which is around what it would take to get Quinn. Difference is, Schaub's more ready to play now, and for obvious reasons, that's preferable in the situation they're in.
I'm psyched about this pick....but it does kind of make me scratch my head that Petrino opted to take Anderson over a player he already coached at Louisville.
