I think Javier's arm is fatiguing and they should be real careful he doesn't get injured pushing himself. I wouldn't mind skipping a start or 2 in a row ....after the Ranger series at least. I would say before but that series is too important and we need keep the chamber full.
That's funny. I checked in here yesterday and I read a post that said we lost so I thought we lost. I thought the game was already over when I read that. Then, I see the usual winning GIFs just now and see we actually won. I honestly thought that game was over and I was pissed a bit. A wave of relief hit me just now. lol Edit: Just watched the condensed recap. I like what I'm seeing there with the 5 run inning and Pressley had some nasty stuff there at the end. Altuve and Abreu had very nicely hit homeruns. That was satifsying. Just don't lay an egg today! BUILD ON IT!
Just for future reference, some people around here call a loss after the first inning. It's not always the best place to find out who's actually winning or losing.
Yea...I was reading up to that and a little after. I saw a bunch of disappointment and then after there wasn't much to go on after. It must have been after an inning fizzled. It was later when I checked in...so I assumed the game was over but it was still very much ongoing. lol
I'd rather see Dubon at 2B and Altuve at DH. Serious question - what exactly does Bligh provide that warrants a start at DH? R/L matchup?
I suspect everyone was asking the same questions about Dubon last year when they were hoping the team would release him so Dusty would stop playing him.
It has been nearly a month since Diaz has started a game at catcher and one of Kessinger and Madris wasn't playing. I blame Chandler Rome. Dusty had said during a winning streak that Maldy was the reason for it. Chandler boy pointed out that they were winning more with Diaz. Ever since, lineups with Diaz at catcher have sucked. P.S. The timing may not be perfect, but I got nothing based on on-the-field performance on why batting orders with Diaz at catcher suck.
Dusty stopped making Diaz the personal catcher for Brown and Bielak immediately after Dana Brown said in that radio interview he wanted to see more starts for Diaz. This was before he got all those starts at DH and he had a long stretch between appearances. He really is ride or die for Maldy and his ego.
Tigers put up a 5 piece in late innings on the Rangers and made them burn some of those BP arms. Thanks for setting the table of us Hinch.
...what a bittch. I hope he can find a way to get tf out of his own way or that some other coaches/assistants challenge his decisions with conviction. Otherwise, they're all complicit.
Yes. The team has sucked vs RHP all year and Brown stated multiple times that his priority was to improve that. Nobody would trade with him so he brought up the best hitter vs RHP that Sugar Land had. His OPS was over .900 vs RHP in AAA. Because of this, I am expecting Madris to get 2+ starts per week vs RHP and PH occassionally for Meyers, Maldy, or Julks maybe even Chas vs RHP. The bottom line is Brown brought him up for a reason and I would expect Dusty has been given that explanation as well. So far so good. It's not like Meyers and Julks are setting the world on fire. It's better than just watching the status quo.
