That's the impression I'm getting lately in the game. The catchers have to know so much about all their pitchers and all the different signs and scouting reports on batters and so much more that, really, batting is becoming a distant concern just like it's been for pitchers forever.

I'm going to assume it's because the trade deadline is coming up and Bauer is rumored to be on the Astros' radar. I have no idea where any of that stands.

It would also be quite a thing to be playing the Indians and trade for their guy during the series.

Yordan Alvarez now has had 129 major-league at-bats in 35 games played.

    He's hitting .333 with an OPS of 1.113 (.415+.698). 36 RBIs. 12 HRs. 12 doubles. 17 BBs. 1 IBB.

    Crazy.

I would say if he had he would have been fired on the spot but probably not.

Took a good throw to get Altuve today

Funny how many people complain about the Windmill when someone gets thrown out, but the same people scream with joy everytime we score on a close play.

I’m just as aggressive, so you wouldn’t be happy, but I damn sure would

It’s not so much the aggressiveness it’s the inconsistency. He sends when he maybe shouldn’t but sometimes that happens, it’s when you add the helds when he shouldn’t like earlier in the season when it quite possibly cost us the game and we went on a multi game slide. Was it his fault? I’m not gonna rule it out, the team looked dejected.

I was digging earlier to see how we came about getting Alvarez as I wasn't familiar. We traded a relief pitcher named Josh Fields to LA for him. He pitched a few seasons for them with a good ERA. He signed a $2+ million contract to play with LA for the start of this season but was released early on apparently not making any appearances. Then, I saw Texas picked him up and he was in their minor league system. Not sure if he still is.

We won the hell out of that trade. LA should have known better. First, he's Cuban. Second, he was known for having the ability to make good swings on the ball. The potential was always there. We got the better of LA...twice. :)
