I’m so sick of this damn bullpen ! Honestly there’s not one guy in the bullpen right now that I trust. It’s like everyone of them all of a sudden decided to suck at the same time
Wonder if there are any regrets for DFA ing Tony Kemp by whoever makes those decisions? IMO you don't tinker with team chemistry. Kemp was not a star but it was just not the same after Brantley hit his HR. A lot of times it is the little things that make the difference. I think we are going to miss Tony Kemp. Hindsight is 20/20 but the way Pressley pitched last night he should have been put on DL thereby creating a spot to keep Kemp. Still shaking my head as to why we had to DFA him.
While the Yankees are having starting pitching problems we are having bullpen problems. There’s literally nobody in our bullpen right now giving me any confidence
For the month of July, the only pen guy < 3.85 ERA is McHugh (2.79). https://www.espn.com/mlb/team/stats.../hou/split/43/table/pitching/sort/ERA/dir/asc
For all the complaining about the bullpen, pitching has been fine recently. In our last 9 games, the team has given up 3 runs or less in 7 of the games. 4 runs once, 5 run once. They won 7 of the 9 games, and the bullpen has pitched 23 innings and given up 6 runs for an ERA of 2.34.
I think Hinch should consider switching things up for Bregman. How about this lineup for tonight. Springer, Bregman, Altuve, Brantley, Yuli, Alvarez, Correa, Chirinos, Pitcher.
Now that Correa and Diaz are back, i think they just need to give Bregman a few days off. With both the HR Derby and ASG, he really didn't have much time off during the all-star break, and with all the injuries, he's been in the lineup every single day.
