I understand why, I just disagree... Wallace has shown an ability to his lefties throughout his minor league career, and I think the best way for him to learn at the major league level is through repetition. Also, I don't think Feliz should get at-bats at the expense of anyone in the organization. Hands down, the worst player in baseball. I don't want to make too much of a big deal out of one game, but I hope this is a rare exception... there are quite a few young guys I'd like to see down the stretch with ABs, and Feliz shouldn't take up many of them.
Muy terrible AB for Pence. Muy terrible. Swung at one pitch that hit the dirt in front of home plate and over two other low pitches.
I hope the Astros place Feliz on waivers to see if someone could use him, he shouldn't take at bats away from CJ or Wallace Its gonna be a tough matchup against Garcia, his fastball is nasty, good thing we have Bud "The Cage" Norris
My opinion: No. I am fine with having a different guy in our hitters' ears but even if Bagwell were to make a difference, it would be marginal and it would take time for him to have an effect. I attribute it to facing lesser pitching since the break and randomness. We faced a relatively tough schedule in the first half.
True. But the hitters look so relaxed. Hitting the ball at all parts of the field. It seems completely different from the Sean Berry approach.
Wow, outfiled pulled in for Onhell. He hits it over Rasmus' head. 5-1... That's how much an error can impact an inning.
The Jeff Bagwell effect!! Yeah I agree that a hitting coach has little to no effect on the offense. A lot of it is a small sample of games. And remember, during the Sean Berry era in the first half of the season, he had to work with Feliz and Manzella starting on the left side. Sanchez and Johnson have been playing pretty well since joining the team.
I haven't tried much but it seems like it's harder to find free links to MLB games compared to other sports. I'm not sure how MLB.TV works but maybe you can buy by the game?
Well we do have a lot more young guys in the lineup now compared to earlier in the year...and I'd imagine if a hitting coach has any effect at this level it would be on them. But whether or not he's made a difference I could care less...it's just damn nice seeing him in the dugout again. That's where he belongs.
