When they go 43-13 the rest of the way, they won't even need an epic collapse. Things will take care of themselves.
Only reason I remember Thomas was he was the #1 overall pick by the Stros in the '69 draft. Played a handful of games one year in the early 70's, got traded, and then bounced around the league for a few years. I went back & looked at the '69 draft to see who the Stros might have passed over...wow. Literally nobody. The only player out of the entire draft (the draft was a different animal back then, most players signed as amateur FA's) to do anything notable in the majors was The Mad Hungarian Al Hrabosky. Only 3 first round picks ever made the majors.
Justice was popping out stats just now on twitter and two that caught my eye... Stros are 30-25 after a 17-34 start and Chris Johnson is second in rookie Batting Avg to Posey while leading all rookies in slugging %.
If Justice is including Johnson and his 149 plate appearances, he should have included John Jay and his 138 plate appearances. Johnson is behind Jay in batting average and slugging percentage.
Won't be able to watch the game but another sweep of the Cards at new Busch would be a great springboard for the rest of the season...8 game winning streak...YES YOU CAN!!!
