Happ gets to face Carpenter and likely a highly determined Cardinal offense tomorrow. Would be a very impressive win to complete the sweep.
Don't think I've watched the bulk of 5 Astros games in a row all season...maybe the very beginning but that's it. New blood is fun to watch...winning helps too!
Good call... forgot it was Winsday. Cards may as well not show up. I think we're something like 15 of 17 on Winsdays.
This might have been asked but do we somewhat have a chance this year, i honestly just been tuning into the games, its awesome seeing all these new guys play, but is it going to be like last year's rockets team, (give us something to look forward to next year) or is it probable that we can be playin in october if we keep playing this hot? i dont expect to win all 50 of our next games, but im trying to remember what our record was at this point that one year where we literally went from worst to best right in the middle of the season..
Anyone interested in checking out the Astros/Pirates 8/13-8/15, can get field level tickets for $9. The Astros were running a promotion that you get $2 off a field level ticket for every run they score during this road trip. They had a cap of 15 runs.
Damn about 4 months too late.. oh well. Good to see them atleast have a respectable stretch before the season ends.
damn, you're good. didn't even remember mark mclemore playing for us. i assumed there were some i didnt remember or know about. definitely seemed rare seeing a black stros 2b though.
impressive memory. first 2 before my time. i'd say yelding doesn't count, but he counts just as much as bourgeois i suppose. nice calls.
In 2008, they went 30-10 prior to Hurricane Ike to get back into the thick of things, but they were only 7 games under when they started that streak, so it put them 13 over when it ended. If they were to parlay this 7 game streak into 30-10, they would only be one game over .500. In essence, it would take a historic streak to get them back into the playoff picture.
Yelding probably played around 50 games at 2B in his Astros career. Milbourne's nickname was 'The Devil' and Pittman's was 'Shoes'.
