His BB% has been just barely below his career average. Despite missing half of the season, he's second on the team in walks. After this game, he should be right at his average. His ability to draw walks has been pretty much a constant throughout his career, whether he's in or out of a slump, including early this season. His OBP is low because he's not getting many hits and is striking out at a much higher rate than his career average. The sample size is still relatively small as he's only played in 19 games. A lot of his numbers will move closer to his career norms over the next several weeks and months assuming that he stays healthy.
Brendan Ryan is having one of the most forgettable defensive efforts in a series that I can remember in recent history. He's like Dan Uggla at the AS game a couple years back.
Brendan Ryan is solely responsible for 9 unearned runs over the last 7 innings. He has 4 errors over the last 10 innings. I'm going to guess that he won't be in the lineup tomorrow.
Even more impressive is that it was against a RHP. He's borderline elite against LHP over his career but quite the opposite against RHP which is why he has been unable to be a consistent starter.
Berkman is one off the team lead in walks, behind only Bourn, despite missing so many games. That's more of a knock on the rest of the team than anything special for Berkman. This is the norm for him.
