Yeah I guess you are right, he made a nice pitch. So nice that despite breaking his bat, Pujols still catapulted that pitch into the outfield. I guess we should all accept mediocrity, because that is exactly what this team is.

I have never said this, but I'll say it today.

THIS TEAM IS GOING TO THE SH!TTER. If you think this team is making the playoffs, then you are friggin insane (or your sentiment is getting the best of you). Everytime this team takes a step forward (either by winning or others losing), you will have Lidge or Garner or Ensberg or Lane or Qualls or any one of the others saps bringing us a step back.

Here's to 2007. May this season's Houston Astros rest in peace.

Here here ... tonight is the first time I am declaring the season over ... I'm sure I'll still watch, but I'll have no dissapointment with losses as I don't have an ounce of hope for this team.

Hopefully we can get Carlos Lee and a couple more additions and the team can come back strong next season.

At least the Astros carried me to Football season this year. Can't wait till November though since football is only once a week.

Tell me that after we win 55 games this year.
Was he a f'n moron when we won 51 games and were up 2-0 coming home from Dallas? Van Gundy would have ripped Lidge, Ensberg and Lane, deservedly.

It's kinda like watching a Roadrunner/Wiley Coyote cartoon. You've seen it before, you know exactly what's going to happen, yet you still watch anyways...

Wheeler has the second lowest ERA on the team. What a waste... I honestly believe that most managers would have used Wheels in the closer role after the kinda season Lidge has had.

We seem to be clouded by the Pujols bomb in the NLCS...because the fact is Pujols does NOT own Lidge. The couple of times that he has beat Brad just happens to decide the outcome of an important game. Not trying to defened Lidge cause I was nervous as well and that "feeling" in the back of my head too. But that said, this was a night when the bullpen had to be used early. Sampson, Borkowski, Springer, Qualls, Wheeer were all used; so who would you go to. Would you really replace Lidge with Miller or Niever to face Pujols after the walk? C'mon now.

But whatever, I'm not pissed off anymore. It's the same old story for this season. And I honestly do not hold it on management or the front office. This whole season has been a GROSS FAILURE on the part of the players. They do their jobs, this team coasts to a division title.

Without a doubt ... I believe Garner is a great manager for clubhouse morale and when players are playing well, he is an awesome manager.

His loyalty is a huge fault, and it is glaring when players dont perform like Lidge this season as he doesn't have the guts to make a real move. He feigns a move like getting rid of Lidge as the closer but it only lasts a game or two at most. That is a very undesirable trait in a manger IMHO.

Just because you don't see it in the press or on tv doesn't mean Garner doesn't rip his teamates. Generally, team issues are kept in the clubhouse...but I have read a few blurbs this season about Garner going to town on some of the guys. Baseball is not a sport where you go blabbing to the press about your players. Hell Garner did close to that last year in the World Series and got blasted for it.

Carlos Lee would be nice. Unfortunately, he's but a drop in the bucket. We need some MAJOR work this off-season if Drayton is serious about contending next year.

We're the luckiest effers in the world that we've even been in it this long.

70-74 = pathetic no matter how you slice it.

Another year of platooning Burke ain't gonna cut it.

    Ausmus needs to GO!

    Everett - GO!

    Ensberg, GO!

    Lidge, GO!

    Lane, GO!!!!!!!!

Who else ... Springer Spaniel .. GO!!!

Gimme more time, I'll think of others.

Look at all these people bagging on Lidge. ****ing fair weather fans. I liked it during the last 9 appearances when Lidge had given up exactly one earned run when you people had your traps shut cause you couldn't diss him.

Phil is that you? Give it up ... Lidge doesn't have it this year. A few appearances where he almost gives up runs, but survives doesn't mean he was doing well.

And for the record ... I don't blame Lidge because we can all see he just doesn't have the control this season and shouldn't be in the closers role ... we blame you Phil

And fair weather fans? ... whatever ... I've watched pretty much every single game this season (and the last 15 seasons) rooting for the team. Just because I disagree with the manager or think a certain player shouldn't play doesn't make us fair weather fans.
