Well I think we're talking about everything that usually comes with that average difference. Getting more sac flies and sacrifices, moving the runner over when necessary, and getting more *key* hits.. etc.
looking at their numbers, everett struck out 25 times in 170 AB's so far...about 14% of the time. bruntlett struck out 5 times in 46 AB's so far. About 11% of the time. Everett isn't on this team for his bat. Obviously. But I think his value in the field makes him the starter with few questions asked.
Offense out of the 8-hole isn't going to make or break this team. Anyone noticed how Berkman & MoBerg have been hitting?

That's why I'm a bit surprised he's out there. Garner (iirc) said Monday that his leg's too sore to play OF. But he hurt it stretching & twisting while playing 1st, and then on a swing, so it may not matter where he is.
Man what bad luck ... Shoulda been out of the inning Edit: Great job by Taylor working through a tough break like that. I'm sure no one was happier about that than the umpire
Lets go Mango ... That was a big pop out by Morgan ... we really need him to come through in those situations. Pick him up Chris!
I don't like pitching to Pujols here .. He's proven enough to me. I know you want to avoid the big inning, but I think he is just too good to give him a chance when you have a base open and a runner in scoring position.
