Man I hope our bullpen can keep this shutout. I really don't understand why RoyO was pulled so early, he was looking great out there.

I do think Miller has improved enough to be the main lefty specialist on this team... but that's the key... LEFTY specialist (who might be effective against the occasional Right-hander).

Either Wheeler/Lidge is just not available at all today (leaving Qualls for the 8th alone), or Garner is just hoping beyond hope that he made the right call with Trever, as his confidence is sky-high after the Pittsburgh game.

Forget what I said about being the "lefty" specialist... he looked overmatched against his one lefty (who isn't a quality hitter).

Now you bring in Qualls right away to face Pujols in a game-saving situation... it may work out in the end, but how can Garner think this was the "smart" move?

Well, Qualls was just as nasty against him in the playoffs... then again, Qualls was also lit-up in the playoffs when they brought him in with runners on base.

Lets see what happens... just a bad managing job thus far.

Yep... it was the Qualls that gets lit-up with men on base.

Screw Garner and his "feels"... at some point, you have to stick with what has worked in the past.

    Sheesh. Just great. 3-1 Cards.

Roy was only at 90 pitches and he was rolling. Should have let him pitch one more inning.

There has to be a manager that is in-between the three extremes we've seen with the last three managers the Astros have had... Dierker did everything based on what he would want as a pitcher, Jimy did everything based on stats, and Garner does everything based on his own random gut instinct.

Lol and the inning continues with another base hit.

SON OF A ****! Damnit Garner!

Men on the corners. Yep...this game is slipping away with trash like Qualls out there. This is one of his "How the **** am I in the Majors" nights.

he has had a good May, but the screws have come loose. If you take out Roy so early. When the F are you going to take out Chad?

    This is unreal.

As awesome and season-turning as yesterday's win was, this one is every bit as potentially season-turning in the opposite direction. And unlike previous big homers to Pujols, this one had all sorts of potential to be avoided... if only common sense and logic was used. This is inexplicable stupidity. Trever Miller?!?!

You knew the Astros were in trouble when Oswalt went out. I was seriously questioning why they were pitching to Pujols at all with a base open and 2 outs. You don't want the a guy at third but do you really want Pujols to beat you? You just knew this would happen.

Garner hurt all Astro fans by his poor judgement.

I would have questioned it less if Qualls was actually the guy they brought in. He's great when he starts off innings, but horrible when he's brought in with inherited runners.

Why I know that, and Garner doesn't, is beyond me... Garner expects all his moves to work because HE made them... there is no other reason for it.
