What it has to "do with anything" is show that many good teams (in fact, 2 of the best 3 in baseball) pick defense at SS over offense, which was the point you were trying so hard to disprove.

Well, to be fair, it is the "weak" part of the Cards lineup... so maybe Garner thought he could sneak him in there... but Gallo can make little league teams seem like the 27 Yankees.
I think he is saving Lidge for the save situation. Can't wait for Clemens to be back so we have another arm in the pen and Gallo can just go home.
Yeah not using Lidge is the right decision probably, it should just be someone other than Gallo that is on the team.
