Higher average, higher OPS, more RBI's, etc than Burke.

Huh? His average has dropped to .195, that is not going the right direction.

He is up now......hopefully he will get a dinger here. Nope a massive popup to 2nd base.

Actually, I think Lane is better as an aggressive hitter and the new emphasis on taking pitches is hurting his hitting overall.

You have yet to address why you believe that an extra hit over 4-5 days would be more beneficial than a defensive stud playing those days.

I like Bruntlett...a lot. But we should be arguing about him taking over CF more than we should SS.

What are you talking about? The team that won the World Series last year and with the 2nd best record in baseball has an SS batting 0.212. Boston, leading the tough AL East with the 3rd best record in baseball, is just a bit higher at 0.221. So again, what is your point?

Well, to me it's all moot unless Garner gives Bruntlett the SS position for a few weeks. I think you'd see a lot more of what you're seeing today and Adam Everett would subsequently fade into memory.

But for all of those Everett fans out there, I have a question. If you think that Everett is soooo valuable, what do you think we could get in trade for him? Just him, straight-up. I think a team with an absolute hole at SS might give you a good A-ball prospect, but otherwise, I don't think you'd find many takers.

And yet, his numbers are still better than Burke's during that period.

At this point, Willy deserves a little more criticism than Everett... he's batting at the TOP of the lineup, he's not stealing bases, and his defense is left to be desired. Basically, he's batting leadoff for NO REASON.

Bruntlett should get more opportunities there... but right now, Orlando Palmeiro would make a better leadoff choice than Willy.

    Here's Gallo.... "Game Over"...

LOL - what does that have to do with anything? How many good hitters do they have around them? Isn't there a DH in the American league? So, you get an extra hitter, and can afford to have one horrid hitter (sort of like the pitcher in the NL).

    CRAP...Gallo is in ....game over.

That's why Lance shouldn't be in left ... and also why Gallo shouldn't be in the majors

Can anybody in the Astros dugout not see what kind of rips they're getting against Gallo? Its not even like they're keeping him because he's a lefty (because he doesn't get lefties out).

Bring up Brandon Puffer... he was as good as Gallo in his MLB service time, and he's dominating AAA right now.

Sorry, I don't work for you. Stats are readily available on the internet. If you want them, it's not that much effort.

Gallo notwithstanding, five scoreless from our bullpen against the Cards. Not bad.

If Mike Gallo was right-handed, he would be:

    (A) selling insurance.
    (B) selling french fries.
    (C) selling his own blood.
