...and Altuve HAS ALWAYS BEEN the 2-hole. Have no f'n clue why *they* think 1 vs 2 = > PAs.... HE'S COMFORTABLE AND SUCCESSFUL THERE!!! Should've always tried to find the HOT BAT to leadoff... glad its Pena... hell they could put Meyers (as well as he's been hitting) in leadoff... PUT YOUR GUYS BASED ON RECENT PLATE HISTORY IN/AS LINEUP-- yeah, it's going to evolve... but for Fck'ng Christ's sake, USE THE GD NUMBERS AND QUALITATIVE DATA! Good "salvage" win... series never should've been 1-2... should've won 2 if not 3 of these games.
not sure if it's a good idea to put jake leading off. he's a 1st pitch swinger. not going to be any different than having altuve as your lead off hitter.
All I want is some consistency. Maybe if you stop juggling and changing the lineup, you allow the players a chance to get into a rhythm and produce?
Completely agree. I like keeping Jake in the #9 spot as long as he keeps hitting. His speed ahead of the top of the lineup is a benefit. How many Astros score on Dezenzo's double yesterday? Even if Jake is having a breakout that lasts the entire season, no reason to add pressure. He's still a glove first player. They MUST keep their eyes open for 2024 Jake. We know he's out there. As soon as he has 4-5 consecutive poor games, give Chas (or Smith?) his chance.
I'm with giving Cam a chance. Love what we're seeing out of Jake . Even though Tucker wasn't resigning we gave up a potential MVP.. we need to see if he can play.
To be honest, I don't have strong opinions on whether Cam is the starting RF in Houston, or the RF, CF, or 3b in Sugar Land or Corpus Chisti. What I do feel strongly about is that he should be in a lineup every day.
I think everyday everyday is too high a bar . After all , cam can be working in the cages and in the film room on his off days . If he keeps up his current pace he will be at about 450 plate appearances . I would like to see that closer to 500 , but it's a minor quibble
