Remember, no PBP in these threads and keep the chatter on topic (if it is about something other than this series, talk about it in another thread).

i want you all to consider that Wany is freaking 11-6 with a 2.51 ERA in August.

    holy crap that's good.

Good enough for 4th in the league. If Lincecum/Carpenter weren't putting up sick numbers, he'd have a decent chance at winning a Cy Young.

How many series do we get into where we have the pitching advantage in every game.

I wish the Giants were on tv more so we could see Lincecum pitch regularly. They're never on Fox's game of the week or on ESPN, it seems. Frustrating.

Wandy and Roy both going this series gives me a good vibe...tonight should be close just like Sunday.

Moles is sorta lucky because if it wasn't for Hampy getting hurt Id say he is pitching for his spot in the rotation.

I look for Roy to bounce back Sunday and pitch effectivly..probably isnt 100% but close enough.

    Stros take 2 of 3...

I'm kinda feeling the pitching matchups here. The only toss-up should be the middle game with 2 mediocre starters. Moehler could surprise me here.

Going with the consensus... 2 out of 3.

Well at least we get to see Wandy and Roy pitch. I'm still adamant on calling up all of our pre-teens from the Lexington league and replacing Hampton/Moehler. Better yet... can we have tryouts before Moehler's next start? Seriously, it can't cost that much to sign and suit-up a fan. There's gotta be someone in the crowd that can hit 97 mph on the gun.

just b/c you can throw hard doesn't mean you can pitch in the majors. location, movement, and changing speeds are the key to pitching in the majors. guys who throw hard and straight get hit hard once they get out of the minors.

You obviously haven't played many video games. They have been directly linked to similar performances in real life. It's not that hard. You hold down turbo and aim the directional pad, and bam 97 mph blows the batter away.

I've finally given up on the playoffs this year :( W/o any 6th or 7th inning guys, its just not gonna happen. Earlier we were competitive even if our starters didnt go deep cause of Sampson mostly. Now seems like 1 run games become 4 run games, 3 run games become 8......frustrating.

I'll still watch obviously, but barring a a double digit winning streak, I dont see us getting back in the hunt :(

I have been supportive of Coop to a point but recently its gotten really hard starting with putting Bazardo into Sat night's game when he told him only in an emergency he would use him on 2 days rest, then walking Nick Johnson to pitch to HANLEY FREAKING RAMIREZ and finally demoting Sampson when its clear that he is hurt and not the same guy and should go on the DL(not sure how much Wade had to do with it but Coop is certainly involved in the decision process)...

I was all for letting the season playout but I think the day after the season you go a different direction!

Dave Clark if you want to go internal

Bobby Valentine if you want to make a splash

I think Drayton understands this too...

richardjustice Astros announce "Kids for free" promotion will run through end of season. Gotta fill those acres of empty seats someway.

Blame the GM and owner for picthing woes. Coop has been dealt a very craptastic hand.

The frustrating part is i really wasnt expecting much from this season, kind of like the Rockets upcoming season....When expectations are low, you just kinda enjoy the game, win or lose, you're just watching, for fun, for the game itself. But then they had to go and sweep the friggin Cardinals, get withing 1/2 game....ya, I got caught up in score board watching, with 60 games to go at that....and now it seems like we're getting blown out almost every game and its just....... I know its mostly injuries, but with our middle relief pulling a titanic, our back end of the rotation going MIA, and a more inconsistant offense than Ron Artest's jumpshot, this is not what I had in mind.....
