Anyone else surprised at how much Wandy has improved this year? His K's are way up (only 20 behind his total for last year), walks are down, ERA is down, WHIP is down, BAA is down. Might be a good time to trade him.
I like the red jerseys, however my favorite of all time were the black alternates from 2000 and 2001. LEE!!!!!!
Lefties typically take a little longer to develop their stuff... and once they do gain confidence, they can do quite well even if they have lesser stuff (because they're lefties). And yet right now, he's in the midst of another "Wandy moment". Where he seemingly comes unglued for no absolute reason. Also, you obviously don't want to go to a crappy bullpen in the 6th inning... but Wandy is digging his own grave right now.
Well, according to how his last start, Garner should never take Wandy out when he's cruising with a 4-2 lead (despite putting 2 men on).... but apparently it doesn't ever matter.
So much for "hey Phil... look... the bullpen would have saved us!" Two inexcusable walks to the bottom of the order (by our "cruising" headcase starter), a terrible error by the RF (even though he wasn't charged for one), and the bullpen again turning a close game into a comfortable lead by the opposing team. Truly a team "effort".
Damn. This is bad. It is has been a long time since it has been this bad. Problem is, I will still watch every game I can. These types of seasons are what make the special ones so sweet.
On another note, anybody catch that Milwaukee's triple A pitcher threw a PERFECT GAME against our own Round Rock Express last night? Talk about adding insult to injury...
That's the problem with this team. When they get their hitting and starting pitching straight, their bullpen screws up. Not one area has been consistent this year.
That may be the worst 0-2 pitch in the history of baseball... so much for Wandy being the biggest loser on the mound today.
