Gotta give credit to Albers... he was jittery, all over the place, probably lucky to only give up 2 runs... but he hung in there.

He's got the stuff... he just needs the confidence.

Boom... leadoff double. Lets tie this up and chase Sheets.

C'mon Gar... keep the bunt on!

EDIT: Looking foolish... keep the bunt on for OP to take the lead now?

The ball really seems to carry here. THere have been quite a few balls hit tonight that flew much farther than I expected them to.

Everett and Ausmus, unlikely heroes. Now lets take the lead.

UGH, crappy bunt. Good play by Counsel though.

Arrgh... even though we tied it up, we still need to get the bunt down in all late-inning situations (especially with our good bunters... namely OP).

The Brew-crew's bullpen can't be as soft as the Reds'... hopefully we'll cause some damage.

Matt Albers has electric stuff, he was hitting 95-96 on his fastball, and he showed a sinker and a good curve.....

He could be a number 1 starter if he can get some control......nice to see him up on the big club.

I would rather run him out there any day than Woody Williams.

Easy there, cowboy. He's got great stuff... but saying all he needs is "control" is the difference between a ton of AAA pitchers and HOFers.

He battled today, but was more lucky than good to give up only 2 runs. I expect him to get better as he gets more confidence (we'll probably see less of those wild pitches, and 4-pitch walks), but his penchant for hanging breaking balls is why he's been prone to the long-ball since being in the organization.

His poise, right now, is also closer to Redding when he first came up than it is to Oswalt... he'll need to improve.

Frankly, if I were him, I'd stick with that 94mph sinker, and throw the hell out of it. You don't need much else if you have a pitch that fast, with that much movement.

I agree, I am just talking about the MPH on his pitches and the movement....if he can get control and poise...man...he could be really good.

    What is wrong with Berkman?

We really need him to get going.

Still drawing walks, still getting timely base hits. I guess you want more homers... they'll be there. This isn't close to being one of his worst slumps of his career.
