yep, this week can either kill us or save us. We have to beat the Cardinals atleast. They are sucking, and so are the Reds. We are only 5 out of leading the division!

I wonder if we will give the ball to Hirsch, Wandy or maybe even Nieve on Tuesday.

I love how the folks at Baseball Tonight recognized that the Astros are only 5 out of the division with seven left against the Cards but they have absolutely no shot of winning it; like mathematically they couldn't. Considering winning the division is under this team's control and the WC isn't solely, then technically the Astros do have a better shot at the division than the WC.

If Wandy Effing Rodriguez pitches even one more game this year, then we deserve to not make the playoffs. I'll become a ******* Cardinals fan.

    He is downright AWFUL!

OK, I'm lying about the Cardinals part, but WAKE UP, front office!

Dude... how come you're still around here...? Are you just making your life difficult? I thought you cried "uncle" earlier in a for-the-ages thread. :D

If Wandy only gave up 1 run, this team still wouldn't have won. He is not the reason the team lost today.

    exactly.

everyone tries to pin this loss on wandy (although still, i'd still rather never see him out there again)... but hell zero runs is... well zero runs.

We got owned by more than one Bush today.

    One directly and one indirectly.

You are definitely right about this, but I dont think you can say that starting Wandy today gave us the best chance to win.

We would have lost today with just about anyone starting, but that doesn't make starting Wandy right.

Yeah, he kind of reminds me of Bob "when I pitch everyone hits a homer" Knepper. Man, just mentioning that guys name gives me nightmares. How can I screw a game up let me count the ways by Bob " I dont know what CLUTCH means" Knepper. LOL.

Thanks to him there never was a game 7 Scott vs the Mets. I still think we would've taken that game on gone on to the series but ... Thanks Bob you choking ******* !!!

I dunno...I think right now Buccholz, Albers, Sampson, Wandy; It's a toss up because while the young guys might have better stuff we either haven't seen enough of them or they've been just as shaky at times. But that's kind of what you get out of your 4th and 5th starters anyways.

The way I see it is that we know how Wandy is going to perform and that is a problem. He couldn't even pitch successfully at AAA. I'd rather give one of the other guys a shot that has pitched well at the level below.

I'm not saying they would be successful, but I think they've earned the chance to help the team more than Wandy.

Yea'll I'll buy that...Buccholz hasn't been impressive since going back down...but Sampson or Albers couldn't be worse than Wandy I suppose. Well regardless of what happens this year they better (and will) get their shot in spring training next year.
