He's just probably too used to that being a HR... which it most definitely is at MMP, Fenway, and Great American Ballpark...
wow, he struck out the side of the middle of our order. Well, we've lost 3 of 4 games. Time to get hot again Stros. We need the bats to wake up again.
Yep, we go only as far as our bats take us. Our bullpen is BEYOND horrendous. & I don't care how good Everett's D is, or that Wilson had 100 RBI years ago ... BURKE needs to be in that effing line-up night in, & night out. It's time! Trade Wilson or Everett for some relief help, & consider calling up Luke Scott.
Wilson's second swing (in the 9th) was down right sad. I am not sure I have seen anyone look that bad since Brad Lidge was in his prime [sic]. Something must be wrong with his sight or his gambling skills. That swing was simply fugly. Time to move Lane up (not that he is "producing" that much better).
Preston Kevin Wilson... Is it any suprise that Preston's middle initial is "K"?? That's just too funny. Preston K. Wilson strikes (out) again.
Looks like the Astros offense is cooling off. We need a bounce-back win in the worst way right now. Hope May doesn't turn into a disaster for this club and we don't scare Roger away. Cheers. It's kind of funny how there isn't a single pitcher in our bullpen who can be trusted right now to do his job consistently.
Biggio looks back over his shoulder going to 3rd, Jenkens & Weeks make a perfect play & he's out by a step. Wheeler walks the leadoff guy in the 8th. Lance lollygags a "double" into a single. Sometimes it *is* the little things.
yep. i guess lance was watching that one??? my son does that, too!! just look at the base you're going to and run like hell!!!! i'll tell you where the ball went later!
Berkman might be the worst baserunner I've ever seen. And I'm not kidding. From Footer's mailbag this week: "Berkman has a few quirky habits that often make us shrug our shoulders. Yes, I've noticed Lance doing that [laying his bat down before leaving the batter's box] on several occasions. I would imagine it's an unconscious habit. The other day, his batting helmet fell off his head after he hit a fly ball and he stopped running, retrieved the helmet, put it back on his head and continued toward first base. Don't ask." It's natural for kids to want to watch the ball, tough to get them to pick up the 3rd base coach early in their turn through first, and *very* tough to get them to look while running without turning their head. Just takes practice. You *could* take away his sno-cone ticket every time he does that.
To Berkman's credit, he might have been a little more passive running the bases in that situation since Biggio got thrown out on a perfect relay/throw at third in the previous inning. Considering it was the ninth inning, he probably didn't want to risk getting thrown out. Not that the decision mattered either way since no one could bring him around anyways.
Brewers can't hide Bill Hall in CF! And man... check out this offense against Sheets! EDIT: Sheets obviously looks off... perhaps he's sick... ah well, I'll take it.
