I don't think they will even think about pitching Roy on 2 days rest which is why I thought the smart move was to have Sampson go up against Cormier and Pettitte against Smoltz on normal rest. That was assuming we would rock Cormier and Chris could give up some runs. We didn't rock Cormier so we may have lost today with Chris so I guess it might be better that we take our chances with him tomorrow. Lets home Smoltz shoulder/elbow start acting up and he leaves some up in the zone. Hey at least its not the AAA right handed batter lineup right
interestingly, if we win tomorrow and the cards lose this sets up matt morris versus his old team, stl cards. he's been awful his last five outings. what's even worse for the astros is that morris just might be sympathetic to some of his former mates and throw them some obesely fat pitches. it'll be an uphill struggle either way but we must win tomorrow and pray the cardinals lose forcing them to play extra game(s). and hopefully they make a visit to MMP one last time.
What stops the Giants from saying f-it and not trying? I'm sure their players don't want to play a makeup game. There is no incentive.
Sympathetic to the team that wouldn't resign him? If anything, there's extra incentive for him, not less.
Yeah, mabye he'll pitch underhand. Or maybe he'll do the 8-year-old bowling throw with two hands, just lob it up there. Or better yet, he'll walk 60 feet and set the ball on a tee. Then he'll serve them some Cointreau coffee and massage their feet.
True - hope it doesn't come to that. I don't recall Roy performing particularly well when he's been pressed into bullpen service.
What a perfect way to start the game... like JD said, one physical error and one mental error...and one run home for Atlanta.
