There's that Palmeiro scrub again, driving in another potential game-winning run. Why in the world is he on this roster anyway?

I'd prefer if Garner went with Wheeler over Lidge for the close, but whatever

At least we have a bigger cushion.

What an inning, back against the wall against a close with an ERA of 1.14 with ATL. Good job Stros! Go Brewers!

    Something to think about.

We're desperate. Wheeler hasn't pitched since Wednesday. He said last week he'd like the opportunity to be a starter. Garner seems to want to avoid using hm tonight. Could we perhaps see an extended Wheeler appearance tomorrow - maybe even as a starter?

As long as Palmiero has his bat speed he'll be able to play in the big leagues till he wants to quit. The guy is nothing spectacular, hence the reason a lot of people that know little about baseball seem to hate on him ... but he's as good as anyone in the league in a pinch-hit situation.

Gotta love the jinx-job our announcers did on Wickman. Talking him up so much he blows the game (with the help of some poor defense).

You can tell the Astros are a team that has made some miraculous comebacks the last couple of years...they are still playing hard, and you gotta love that.

Thats not a bad thought ... I think Sampson will start, but at the first sign of trouble we could see Dan for a few innings.

Yeah, give credit where credit is due. At least this team is going to force the Cards to win tomorrow. Man, Brew Crew force that SF game, please. If only somehow, someway we could get that tiebreaker game at MMP. Just get that Tues game. That's all I'm asking. Is that asking too much? ;)

No stros on TV here in el paso, gotta rely on the board here. have to admit, while watching the live box i got frustrated when the braves tied it, then come to the board to see the stros back up! My aggies already lost a heartbreaker at least God let the stros win!

According to the Braves announcers Lidge's September ERA is 6.35 ... I thought all the people here were telling us how hes been doing so much better lately and deserves the closers role?

I don't agree with this pitching change. Lidge was pitching well and his stuff was nasty tonight. No need to bring in Wheeler now.

If tonight's score hold he'll have allowed just 2 runs in his last 9 innings of work, so he has pitched better in the last week.

Just one more game at MMP to decide it all, standing room only, crowd going nuts, Clemens perhaps on the mound, ROOF CLOSED.

C'mon...pease let this happen some way.
