Matt Albers is the scheduled Saturday pitcher now, but we know he probbably won't go more than 4 or 5 without an extremely good night.
Sweep Cards...check. Beat Phillies...check. Beat Braves... NLDS = Padres... NLCS = Mets... Bring it the **** on.
So the only way the Cards dont play the Giants for the makeup game is if the Astros are up a game and a half at the end of Sunday??
or if the Cards are up a game and a half or more on the 'stros at the end of Sunday. all the cards can do is gain 1/2 game on the 'stros on Monday vs. the Giants...if we're up 1 1/2 games, the best they can do is pull to being 1 game out...so the game would be unneccesary.
Yup. Baseball Jesus, Buddha and Allah have gotten us this far, let's not **** em over by being overconfident. The Braves want to win as bad as the Brewers do, so lets just pray Roger, Matt and Andy can come through.
Man dude, you didnt really think that one through did you? BTW, it's if we either up half a game or behind half a game that would necessitate STL playing the makeup game with SF and then if after that we were still tied, then STL plays here for all the marbles.
He's pitching on Sunday, so they'll have to throw one of their weaker starters out there on those days (Marquis, Reyes, maybe even Weaver on very short rest).
also remember guys this braves team isn't bad. they're just slightly below 500. and they hate us. we can pull through. but lets not think its a given. and even if we win out we still need milwakee or san fran to win one for us. and we'd still hafta beat the cardinals. and granted they're losing...but if they get to the one game to decide who goes on...they've probably won a couple of games and have some of their confidence back. keep rooting. but lets not take anything for granted. and regardless of what happens...most of us can look back and realize that this team kept playing even when we gave up. but we got this.
The Astros STINK. The Braves are gonna kill them!!! Might as well pull out that tombstone because the Astros are going 6 feet under!!!
Smoltz is 15-13 against the Stros in his career. Outside of Biggio (.260, 104 ABs) & Ausmus (.217, 23 ABs), nobody on the Stros has faced him more than 6 times.
This is our biggest challenge of the year. The Braves are going to come in swinging. We win this series, we deserve the playoffs.
