Hell, theoretically this team could still win the division outright after tonight.

You flat out disgust me. Do you remember ALL THE CLUTCH HITS palmeiro has delivered the last week?

And again, all they have to do is win one more game than STL in the last two to force a makeup game with SF. Why this is lost on you is beyond me.

I totally agree, but our bullpen has been suspect, and our offense inept...the NL teams are all very weak.

We need to find some decent offense next year....get Bags off the books, let Clemens walk....try to resign Petitte and get Carlos Lee and let House play more often....

i dont get why its so unlikely...the cards are still just one game removed from a horrendous stretch, and the stros have been hot....

Geez, Everett and Ausmus back to back clutch hits in the 9th? How often has that happened?

    What can you do?

Braves four extra players tonight. That pitch wasn't even remotely close to the zone.

I agree with that plan other than the Clemens deal. Roger's a flat out stud even at age 44, and I'm going to miss the hell out of him when he's gone. Nobody else brings the intensity he does.

Why would you let Clemens walk, when you know his salary has no bearing on what moves the Stros will make/try to make in the off-season?

I'm not saying our chances decrease dramatically...but we still have a legitmate shot, especially the way the Cardinals have been playing. I'll take a long shot over no shot any day. Why assume anything with this club, and all the improbable comebacks they've made.

And I stated all the way back to the Philly game that this team could absorb one more loss and still be in pretty good shape. I still believe that. It's entirely possible the Cards split with the Brewers, and if they do and we can win out, we force that pressure cooker with the Giants.
