No matter what happens... this was a fun way to close out the regular season... even if it has more potential for heartbreak.
- D. Bell safe at first on center fielder S. Taguchi's fielding error, C. Hart to third, D. Bell to second - M. Rivera lined into double play second to shortstop, D. Bell out at second - End of Inning (0 Runs, 1 Hit, 1 Error) I hoped I had misinterpreted the omen I witnessed earlier today... a semi with "ISRINGHAUSEN" written on its side driving along... and turning a corner.
Actually, it looked pretty good... outside corner. Scott couldn't have done much with it anyways. Is Carlos Lee in the dugout yet?
3 outs in our season. Although exciting, it probably would have been better to go quietly, rather than go down like this. Heartbrek city.
I can't believe we are going to lose our playoff hopes because of a chopper in front of the mound, a line drive that might have been caught by Everett, and an error by Berkman... Just wow. DD
Definitely. To lose the season based on a combination of Preston Wilson and the absurd nature of that entire 6th inning would be the most painful exit imaginable.
Two chunks of good news: 1.) Bob Wickman ain't all that good either; 2.) Lot of baseball left to play in St. Louis.
Are you kidding me? This run has made the city ALIVE again... has the Astros all over the national scene/media... and has everybody glued to their tv's up till the FINAL series of the regular season. If you don't like this... you're a pansy.
It could have been called either way...but still too close to take...it was a bad at bat by Scott.... 3-1 Braves now.. Pressure off for the Cards...goodbye playoffs....at least we got close. DD
