he's been terrible since the released of Jose Abreu. https://www.statmuse.com/mlb/ask/joey-loperfido-stats-since-june-14
He's hit poorly overall the last handful of games. "Definitely" and "wall" is premature and overly negative, but no surprise coming from you.
Jose Loperfido at least had some fight in his at-bat in the 9th, but T.Garbage reminds me of J.Abreu, dead set on trying to put the bat to the ball. Getting a walk is not sexy. Chase has 2 walks in the last 61 at-bats and 8 walks in previous 61 at-bats. Garbage and Chase needs sexy at-bats to get their next contract, both need a career year, this year. Why are we getting Angels players that Angels don't want?
Espada: - pitched Arrighetti too long - didn’t bunt with Fido - PH’d Cabbage instead of Dubon There’s many factors in losing close games, but Espada hasn’t helped much… all season. Run-diff didn't suffer much tonight. so at least there’s that.
They improved their record in your continued circumstantial stat yesterday… after Hader gave up a run.
Caratini, Verlander, Bloss, and Tucker all joined 10 other teammates in memoriam. Mariners continue perfect health though.
The Astros were not going to win the remaining 78 games. Arrighetti is where Brown was the middle of last year. Gotta expect a few stinkers while he figures out MLB. Just hope he has as many good as bad until reinforcements arrive.
Compared to us, they’ve definitely been fortunate but they lost Matt Brash (huge arm out of their pen) for the year. Bryan Woo has also been injured multiple times and is currently on the IL. They got by skipping his start this past time because they had 2 days off last week but they are going to have to bring someone up for the Jays series.
