When Correa was drafted, some thought it was a reach and a "only because he was cheaper than the other options" pick, which may have led some to rank Springer higher in the system. On top of that, Springer absolutely crushed minor league pitching the following 1.5 years at higher levels, while Correa was merely "very good for an 18-19 year old" at lower levels.
