Like I said, a 2 and 0 count, homer with men on base. Mc1 CONTINUES to give homers, looking more and more like a number 4 or 5 guy in a rotation. Continues to struggle, that 4 runs per game is looking like his signature.
Seems to me that McHugh has gotten away from his 4 seam/curve tandem and started to spread it out to more pitches. I could be wrong, but this is what I am noticing. More 2 seamers, and cutters. Got away from the bread and butter and it seems that guys are starting to tee off on him as he just isn't quite as sharp with his go to pitches.
Mc1 and is going to be Mc2 in fast, has been behind hitters all day long. He does not have the stuff of Mc2 to be able to pitch from behind. Better improve on that, or he will allow 1 or 2 more runs, and we can't afford any more runs if we want to win 1.
His cutter isn't moving as much this year turning it from a weak contact/whiff pitch to a weak contact/hard contact pitch.
Rangers and Angels are losing, but tomorrow we are facing Sale, and we are not going to beat him, and the third game of the series is Hernandez, so we better win today because we can lose a lot of games in a row, and this was a game to win, a guy coming with a 5.50 ERA and our "number 2" guy pitching
The team doesn't have enough polished hitters. The power has been spread out well and has contributed to their success but they fail too often in situational hitting.
