So Dusty puts out the best lineup he can against a pitcher with an ERA above 5 and the only two RBI come from Straw and neither of which were from a hit. Baseball is weird sometimes.

Stripling made some changes since the last 2 starts with regards to his pitches being tipped. Since then he has pitched well.

And he has a great eye at the plate. He's not killing killable pitches like he used to do.

When in doubt SLIDE! How many times have we seen a runner slide that may have not or did not need to slide? You FORCE the the motion to reach to tag. Very fundamental

Strike 3?? I hate how he always let’s strike one go right down the middle.

    That was an unimpressive performance

The Jose who had given up 5 runs in his previous 29 2/3 innings coming into yesterday?

Or you want Altuve in the pen?

Since we'll lose about a third of his good performances and 90% of his bad, I'm fine with a bad performance every 5 or 6 starts.

No official update on Diaz, just he'll be gone awhile. Yordan playing outfield won't help anything. How long is Brantley out? Bregman is likely playing through injury. He has no power. Alvarez's struggles continue with beaucoop K' s.

    It's often Middle Middle too.

While not universal, this seems to be typical of a maturing power hitter:

    1. Swing at everything and hits a lot of them.
    2. Pitchers stop throwing strikes and the K rates go up.
    3. Stops swinging and OBP goes up.
    4. Pitchers start mixing up pitches, hitter slumps.
    5. Hitter adjusts or becomes a one hit wonder.

Jordan is at stage 4. Hopefully he adjusts and can hit strikes and lay off balls without sacrificing power (Bat speed, not necessarily HR).

Bregman appears to have reverted to stage three and maybe sliding toward 4.

I'd probably drop Yordan to sixth temporarily.

I see Straw isn’t starting. Day of rest or day to think about not sliding?
