The other thing I don't understand is why not give him a day off. I used to like Bregman. I would love to see him get a day off every week or two. With an average hovering around the Mendosa line he best helps the team batting in the bottom third of the order. When we did that briefly he seemed to hit better though it was short lived.
Sears loves playing the Astros - and his minuscule PC today might have him going 8 innings, then it’s you know who. We need to manufacture runs and make him work. Spence gotta keep this thing close.
Because he plays elite 3B better than any other Astro on the roster. Most here actually would not be able to name the backup 3B without looking it up (presuming Dubon is playing elsewhere). Now Altuve could use more days off. There are other people who can play 2B in his stead and he is 35 years old.
I would not consider Bregman an elite third baseman. He has never won a Gold Glove. Dubon is who I would rotate in for him once every couple of weeks. Dubon has better range and a stronger arm.
