So sick and tired of people saying wait until we get the "core three" back healthy again. The core three SUCKS!!! Well, not Altuve so much, but he's even having a down year by his standards. For some reason fans in this city think Correa and Springer are like once in generation type players. They're basically average major leaguers who's hype has been elevated because the Astros won it all last year. Just look at the stats from other shortstops and center fielders from around the league and you'll see what I mean.
There’s nothing special about Springer. He’s easily replaceable, it’s not like he’s Mookie Betts out there. Now that guy can ****in hit.
Still a month plus for that to declare itself. Springer was horrid up to games 2-7 of the WS. Watch enough baseball and you tend to allow for all possibilities.
Aside from Yuli I wouldn't call any of those guys fan favorites (except maybe Keuchel 3 years ago...)
Can you? I don't understand why you feel the need to side with the enemy here. The call was too close to overturn. Period. Let's move on.
Team still had "it" going into the ASB. Then we fell off the cliff. Some days it was the starters or bullpen that gave up runs inexplicably. Most days it was the offense that went into deep hibernation.
You mean Correa who is only in his 4th year and hit .315 last year? You mean World Series MVP George Springer who tied the WS record with 5 HR, and BROKE WS records for XBH and total bases? And league MVP Altuve, who you can't seem to make your mind about? Just checkin...
Based on what I've seen, wouldn't be surprised either way. I'll give you one of the two will definitely get hot...betting on both is tough.
This team is not the same without Altuve. Correa and Springer need to snap out of it and start hitting. This is not looking good. Our pitching is okay but our hitters need to get it going as soon as possible.
2 hits??? Man we are just pathetic right now. Shameful baseball being played by the Astros for a while now. They are not hungry enough. The A’s are hungry. We are not. Maybe we regain that hunger next year.
Yep, that's what I mean. Correa's career has been a disappointment so far, and I think the majority of fans will agree--and stop with "but he's only in his 4th year." That's FOUR YEARS, not four weeks. Check out Lindor's stats who is the same age. Springer got hot for a week, which any MLB player can do (see Evan Gattis), but average at best after the All Star break last year and downright awful during the Boston and New York series. Altuve is our one true stud, who has exceeded all expextations, even though most of hits are just slap singles.
I am not saying they are currently the best players at their positions. But when you say they "SUCK!!!" you are way out of line.
