Awhile back there was a poster saying Clippard should be pitching the 8th instead of Devo lol almost want to go find it.
Baseball and Weather Forecasting must be the only careers where you got a job to do and you can get it completely wrong and still get a paycheck.
Oh well, Astros about to lose first place in the AL. They have some mental midgets on this team so not confident how they will react to this.
It's amazing with how bad our bullpen has been for a long time and how weak Hinch is as a manager we are still in 1st place in the AL. That is a testament to the great talent of our 1-9 guys (and Luhnow?). God bless them.
Well our bullpen is trash. This is nothing new. We had trash and then we traded for more trash. It will also be the reason we don't win anything this year. The bullpen is just straight garbage. Has been since june.
Here's my hot take: AJ Hinch has cost the team at least 5 wins this year. I wouldn't include today, but look at this lineup with Tyler White, Derek Fisher, Jake Marisnick and Centeno/Stassi as the bottom four. I don't care if it is a double header- that is utter crap.
Easy prediction here. Astros lose the AL lead for about a week. Cleveland starts to significantly cool off. Hinch begins to round out his official playoff bullpen. Those guys settle into their role. The team regains the lead a few days before playoffs and go into the postseason on fire. We'll be laughing at the comments from this game come October.
Well this thread fell apart quickly. I feel good about the playoff bullpen. This crew that's been launched out there the last couple games isn't one that I expect much from. Except for Giles. But he's been awesome recently.
I really hope this is true. It seems the team/manager has made this harder than it needs to be by playing dumb and managing dumb.
that's why you play for the win now, well yesterday. now the best out come is 2-2. It's better than 0-4 or 1-3. But bad teams win series and we've beaten up on oak this year. they were due but no need in helping them.
I don't know what to say other than this is deflating. Our destiny WAS in our hands. Now only 1 loss seperates us. Well unless a miracle happens
This is the most frustrating part about this series. Hinch did not set this team up the last couple of nights for the best chance to succeed overall with his handling of the bullpen last night and the lineup today with Reddick sitting while they put a bunch of AAA guys out there. It just doesn't make any sense.
Why not just bring up any random minor leaguers rather than keep rehashing the same ol bullshit? Davis is actually a better option than half of these so called "relievers".
In your opinion. I know that's obvious, but it needs to be emphasized. Because none of us really have a clue about what will happen. The only thing we know is that it's going to be us, the Indians, or the Red Sox with the best record. Other than that, we don't know. But I'd much rather look at the glass half full. The negative Nancy **** gets old real quick, and it's not any closer to reality than the positive outlook at this point. Much better for one's health to be positive.
