Remember when i said i wanted to see more Marwin at 1st??? White looks very bad right now, and on defense, maybe Marwin gets that ball and the game is tied at 0. Now, reality this team is worse in AL, so we are better off giving the opportunity to guys like White and Devinski. Now, i also want to see Feliz pitching in the 7th or 8th inning to develop him into a set up reliever.
This team is awful, we should not lose 1 year eligibility with a struggling team like this one. I would not bring Reed nor Moran and lose 1 year eligibility. Now, I would bring Hoyt and lets see what Peacock can do for us.
Gomez is out a few days & Giles was "demoted". http://www.chron.com/sports/astros/...s-reliever-Ken-Giles-says-I-m-not-7385765.php Spoiler
I like what i saw from Devinski, a fastball in the 92-94 range, a really good change up, and an ok curve ball. The only think i did not like was 2 walks too many, everything else, i liked.
Yea and Devenski looked pretty good today for a guy making his first mlb start That J.A. Happ trade is finally paying off
Yea, I would love to see them go ahead and bring up Reed and Moran I know people worry about who would come off the 40 man, but there are plenty of guys on the 40 man who could be gone AJ plays 1st, Moran plays 3rd They have had enough time to figure out if Gattis can catch part time or not, if he can then Kratz needs to be gone. Gattis can get some time behind the plate, and some at DH, White can get most of the DH opportunities though. If White is going to be a good long time player here, it will be at DH. Guys like Valbuena and Tucker can be shopped. Buena wouldn't bring back a lot, but we could move him. Tucker would be interesting to see what he would bring, would have to be to an AL team looking for a young DH, but we could likely get some decent low level guys for him. Bottom line, Gattis/White/Tucker are all DH's, and we don't need 3 of those. Reed and Moran might not make us better right away, but they MIGHT! And it's very unlikely they do anything to make us worse, heck we have gotten a combined .206 average, 1 hr and 7 rbi from Valbuena and Marwin...can't fall much further than that Maybe those two could give us a little jolt, then get McCullers back and if Devenski builds on what he has done, could get us headed in the right direction. I know many don't want to hear this, but there is still a looooong way to go this year....can't dig the hole much deeper though, need to make a couple of these moves NOW
