you might have something...haven't you known people in your life that just have bad energy that can deflate momentum?
VV was awesome, Hinch, please, take him out and don't waste the arm in an 8 to 2 game. VV has the stuff, use him in close games, games on the line. We only need 2 more innings on this game, 1 inning for Qualls, the other one for Feliz
Dubront's a scrub? He's not a great pitcher, but he's certainly capable and has had a few notable starts this year, namely against Toronto & LA. Hardly a 'scrub'. With Carter & Stassi in the lineup, I'm honestly not shocked that we are struggling to score runs. This game, thus far, is on Fiers (never found rhythm, gave up too many walks) & Fields, who probably should never have seen the diamond in a 2-2 game. We've got 3 more innings, down 6. Let's see if we can't put some pressure on these guys.
It was frustrating to see Hinch go to VV only after the inning had already gone to ****. Would like to see Feliz in those situation more as well.
Oakland is 37-20 against Houston lifetime. 6-7 this year. 11-8 last year. 15-4 in 2013. Houston has a handful of ex-A's on their roster. 21 games under .500 for the season. 5 more games with these guys. Get it together!
Villar takes out some frustration. That right there should give you no reason to play Carter the rest of the year.
Yes, agree but at least we saw how he dominate Valencia, who has KILLED us. The K Lawrie. Is time to give this kid the chance to pitch more out of the bullpen, in important moments.
He's a career journeyman. 4 clubs in the last year. He's not the first, won't be the last journeyman/scrub to look great against Houston.
Entering this game, Josh Fields had thrown 24 innings that were considered to be "high leverage" by Fangraphs. He has a 9.37 ERA in such situations. I'm sure that figure went up today.
