fell asleep in the 8th inning. getting too old for this AL. =( some really bad at bats by their entire lineup. make gray throw more pitches. amusing how their plate discipline diminishes away from home. it's all mental at this point.
That is my frustration with him. If he was a 30 homer guy, well, i could understand that, a little, but a leadoff hitter that does not hit many homers??
I stand corrected, before i said at home he is best pitcher in baseball, on the road he is just good, but with those numbers i have to say below average. If K wants to be our number 1 guy, he needs to improve on those numbers. If he is the leader of our rotation, he needs to start winning games on the road and pitch GREAT and change this problem we have of losing so many road games. Guys, if there is no improvement on the way we play on the road, we will not make the playoffs.
They are different kind of hitters. Valbuena is a guy that will hit in the .240 and get an OBP of .340 but not as much power of Carter. I believe his homers will decline but the average will continue to improve. I don't think Valbuena is going to end up with 30 homers. Carter on the other hand is a guy that will hit .215 with 35 to 40 homer potential.
Valbuena has a 310 career OBP and is at 293 on the season. Just because he carried a 340 OBP over one outlier year out of 6 doesn't mean that is who he is.
They are certainly opposite hitters this season, whether by luck or not. Carter with no one on: 0.578 OPS Carter with people on: 0.830 OPS Val with no one on: 0.815 OPS Val with people on: 0.596 OPS It's bizarre, though, that both of them manage to have 20ish HRs and yet only mid-40's RBIs.
Well, the year before it was .331 Now, he takes walks, thats why he has an OBP of .080 to .100 more than average, if he gets his average to .240, which i believe he will, his OBP will be in that range of the .340. I think his average was so low this year because he was only looking for homers, now he is a better hitter, with less homers. I don't see Carter hitting .240 in any of my dreams

They are trying to ease Jed back into the everyday routine. Don't necessarily agree with it but it is what it is.
y u swing at the second pitch, breh!? oh. i understand the frustration but the reward of a base hit negates it.
