LOL at some of the reactions to this game. The GARM has arrived.

How much longer can we keep running Marisnick out there, he isn't hitting at all. We complain about Carter, and we've dogged Castro for most of the year, but Marisnick has been by far the biggest hole in the lineup.

Since May 3 he has a .448 OPS, and he has struck out 34% of the time. That's 3 months of pitcher like offense. Obviously he's a monster defensively, so he gains some value, but there is no way anybody can field well enough to carry that poor a bat.

I think Hinch had already planned on playing him a lot less... but then Tucker got his arm hurt.

The big outfield in Oakland (with tons of foul territory) also probably impacted his decision-making.... but he also needed to pinch-hit for him in a game where runs were initially sparse, so Tucker did eventually get in there.

Thankfully we wont have to keep running him out there once George returns....

Why does Kris Bryant get more attention/love in the media than Correa? Correa beats him in all major categories except OBP with almost half as many at-bats. Or is the love there and I'm just not seeing it?

Exactly. With Gomez here and Tucker healthy he's a great 4th OF (5th when Springer comes back) and defensive replacement for Tucker in the late innings.

The English language is not properly evolved enough to accurately describe just how ****ing awesome that kid is.

Seriously. Seemed like Sportscenter was gushing over Bryant on a nightly basis yet absolutely no mention of how much his production had actually fallen over the last month. I think Correa has more doubles and equal amount of HRs, and he's batting .290 vs. Bryant's .240. Oh and Correa has a respectable OPS over 0.900. This kid is going to spoil Astros' fans for years to come.

I read Fangraphs. Correa is talked about quite frequently and just this week they made the case that he's the best SS.

By respectable, his current OPS would be 10th in the majors.

I guess I should have clarified, by media I'm referring to ESPN mainly. Good to know he's getting his dues from the more reputable sources.

Tucker seems destined to be a DH, imo. Wouldn't be surprised to see another outfielder free agent signing this summer.

Very dangerous. I hate this word but that would be one of the toolsy 1-4 lineups I have ever seen. All have speed on the basepaths and have different abilities at the plate that it will be hard to get in a rythym against those 4 especially if someone gets on base. I also like the rest of your lineup including Gonzales at 1B. Would rather have him there than Valbuena or Carter at this point. More well rounded hitter and I would like to see what he can do given steady playing time.

Pitchers will always be worried about these 4 taking a bag similar to Rodriguez tonight being more worried about Altuve on 2nd than Correa with a 2-0 count. Big mistake.

Not sure how the lineup would shake out exactly but I do like some combo of Altuve, Gomez, Correa, and Springer. I am thinking change out Springer for Gomez or bat Springer lead off again. So many different combos. Correa is the only lock at the 3 hole IMO but all of them can basically bat 1-4. Could even throw Lowrie into the mix but adding him and Tucker at 5 and 6 also makes me giddy. Future is super bright with Springer back healthy. Fingers crossed!

    Altuve
    Gomez
    Correa
    Springer

    Springer
    Altuve
    Correa
    Gomez

    Altuve
    Springer
    Correa
    Gomez

I agree. I really hope to see him in winter ball playing 1B. Not sure there's interest on either side, but I'd be completely happy if they brought Rasmus back. Gomez/Springer and Tucker/Rasmus/Marisnick looks good to me.

    My lineup would be

    Springer
    Altuve
    Correa
    Gomez
    Lowrie
    Tucker/Gattis (DH)
    Rasmus
    Valbuena/Gonzalez
    Castro/Conger

Gonna have the RH/LH split lineup problem regardless but you will have late game PH options off the bench to combat it.

Just be patient. When Correa has a 2004 Beltran performance in the ALCS he'll get plenty of attention.

EVERYONE is talking about Correa right now. Bryant hasn't really been a major focus since the earlier part of the season.

Not sure we'll see that again. 2004 contract-year Beltran was outer-worldly. Remember him against the Braves golfing that shot around his ankles out of the park. If anyone can reach that level, it's Correa though.

yeah, this is one of the few times i disagree with the "media bias" issue. Correa is getting his due on ESPN, etc. and getting as much love as anyone out there.

Feels like a waste of funds. Would rather Tucker/Marisnick platoon and/or offense/defense in the OF (+ a 5th guy from the minors maybe) and spend the Rasmus money on Kazmir or a CC replacement

I feel like we've been spoiled with 3 CFs in the OF. Tucker isn't good, but he's not awful. He's better than Manny was out there and has some athleticism. We're talking about him putting in work at 1B in the offseason...I think with extended work in LF, he can be more than serviceable
