I understand, I was just addressing a couple of your points.

Absolutely Chris Burke. However, Burke's going to start regardless, so it's not as if Biggio is holding Burke out of the lineup. If Burke were to play second instead of Biggio, the difference in the lineup would be Willy starting instead of Biggio. I still prefer Biggio to Willy. Now, if Lane were potentially an option to start in center along with Berkman in right, Wilson in left and Lamb at first, I might be intrigued by your idea... but Garner doesn't seem to trust Lane to play center in more than emergencies so I don't think that'll happen.

Burke's a better hitter than Biggio, but Burke and Biggio are both playing right now. If you move Burke to second and bench Biggio, someone else needs to start in center... and I don't want that person to be Willy Taveras. If we get a decent offensive CF, then I'd agree with you... but we just don't have a viable alternative right now.

Enough of these tired old arguments...Biggio, Everett, Ausmus, etc, etc, etc. How many more 9-10 runs games have to occur before some of you realize that the offense is so not the problem here. We win this game if Wandy doesn't implode in the 3rd.

you are right on the money with everything you said. here's the problem though, and my point: they aren't even going to CONSIDER trying to improve upon Biggio's roster spot. and it can be EASILY improved to the point where our defense and offense both become better, and could have been the last several years. biggio and ausmus are entrenched in this team as long as they damn well please, which is insane and it makes me grit my teeth in fury watching them.

Biggio has earned the right to reach three thousand hits with the Astros.

Burke has a place to play in CF. It's not a decision that needs to be made, in any case.

silly me! i guess i didn't understand that one could earn such thing. will you copy and paste me some Billy Beane showing the formula for earning the right to reach 3,000 hits with a team?

heck, i say Biggio has earned the right to reach FIVE thousand hits with the Astros! Lock him up till 2015, Uncle Drayton!

I say everyone (media, teammates, us, etc) shouldn't put so much pressure on Rocket. He's just like the other guys and can't carry us on his big shoulders. I just want something to happen to really piss the Astros off, which should be because they suck right now. Get that fire going and come back better than we did last year. We have all the right tools, we just need to sharpen them and use them.

Mike Lamb in Right field? Makes no sense. Lamb has a has a .637 OPS against lefties this year while Lane has a .946 OPS versus lefties. Lane is also a superior defender. Makes no sense at all.

Precisely. As if enough isn't going wrong elsewhere, let's start whacking our hall of famers again. Bagwell's injured, but surely there's a way to blame him, too. Same tired old nonsense BS from the whiners camp.

His post certainly doesn't, considering Jason Lane's in RF.

Even though its early, Clemens is doing a better job of not wasting extra pitches. Then again, he only typically starts doing that once the opposing team starts hitting him... basically, this is a meaningless post.

Also, the lineup has Lane in RF, and Lamb on the bench... they must have changed it.

Maybe we should take Clemens out so we can score
