Frankly, that would be... well, not a disaster but certainly not "good enough." There's still a wild card option - but if the Astros have any delusions about getting into the divisional race, this is a fairly big series. Losing 3 of 4 pushes them 9 games back with nince games left against Texas. It also puts them four games under .500, which is two more games they might have to make-up in the WC standings. They've dug themselves enough of a hole that their margin of error is much smaller. As is, they have to win nearly 60% of their remaining games to hit 87.
anything better than 0-4 I can live with. Sad, but true. Hoping to be shocked. Starting the series off with a W tonight would be incredible. Regardless, I like our chances to keep chipping away no matter how this series goes.
Agreed, watching the A's self destruct yesterday was like watching the Astros self destruct against the Rangers. Making the easy plays look impossible, ball not bouncing your way, errors, suspect pitching and coaching moves, etc. Let's hope we keep playing with the same mojo and not look at the other team's uniforms. Also, please don't let Colby F'in Lewis blank us again.
1. George Springer (R) RF 2. Jose Altuve (R) 2B 3. Carlos Correa (R) SS 4. Colby Rasmus (L) LF 5. Evan Gattis (R) DH 6. Luis Valbuena (L) 3B 7. Carlos Gomez (R) CF 8. Marwin Gonzalez (S) 1B 9. Jason Castro (L) C
Anything less than a series split with the pansy ass Rangers who have had our number will be disappointing, and frankly disheartening considering how well the team is playing now

I just don't like seeing Castro hit 9th. I loved watching kemp and Jake hit 9th, or even Marwin for that matter over Castro. I enjoyed that short period of time with speed at the 9 hole.
Hmm...not a fan of that lineup. In any case, I really hope Gomez is on his path back to at least a solid outfielder. This series would be a great time for him to get his mojo back.
Don't like Marwin in there vs a RHP. He just hasn't looked right against them for a while (injury?) and historically hasn't been good vs them. His .575 OPS vs RHP this year is putrid
I'd be happy with a split. Considering the recent history against the rangers, not losing the series would be a win in my eyes.
If they are going to keep White on the roster, i'd rather see him at 1B vs RHP than Marwin. I know White has been really bat too, but at least he seems to have the "ability" to do something positive. Marwin just doesn't look right batting left handed for a while now.
