He heard that Paredes was back and figured it would be best not to let Paredes be in the OF, Altuve is taking one for the team

Weird seeing Bud in that Orioles uni

Turned on the game just as Wallace was going through his home run swing. Nice :)

Norris could have trouble being a fly-ball pitcher in that balpark. Even though MMP gives up its share of cheapies, you can get away with several fly balls to the deep parts of CF/RCF.

Orioles Park is one of the original "band boxes" of the new stadiums... really tight dimensions.

Nice piece of hitting by Hoes there.

Funny thing is, his first couple of seasons he struggled with the long ball at MMP much more than on the road, yet last year and this he really gave up very few long balls at home but has given up a lot of them on the road.

Villar can't sulk... he's gotta hustle for that ball. No reason for the runner to take 3rd.

MMP can be a pretty good pitchers park once you learn where you can and cannot allow fly balls to be hit.

I really can't watch Chris Carter strike out anymore... can we send him down to AAA to work on his 2 strike approach?

Yea obviously facing our lineup helps that. I also think Bud won't have to worry so much about his pen now and about a lack of support. He might not try to pitch to contact as much and go back to trying to strike people out

So why wasn't he trying to strike people out with the Astros? Not understanding the logic as to why a better bullpen and better run support leads to more attempted K's by a pitcher.

Possibly asked to pitch deeper in games, or felt it was more important to pitch deeper in games as the staff "ace". As opposed to feeling like giving 6 good innings as the #4 guy on a staff, and with a good pen behind him, will be good for the team. So not worry about pitching to contact as much in his current situation
