Expanded playoffs this year - there are 5 wildcards in each league, so the Astros are currently in the playoffs. ESPN hasn't updated their formatting to show it.
Even in a 60 game season... it’s still too early to panic. Is it concerning? Hell yeah it is. But don’t panic yet.
If Verlander doesn't return, this will be a lost season. Maybe the sign stealing really made Springer, Bergman and Altuve into who they were, superstar hitters (I kid... I hope). They better step up or that's going to stick with them that cheating made them into stars. It's going to especially suck for Altuve because the dude has been one of the best hitters in baseball well before the sign stealing scheme.
Simply don’t understand the cheating suspicion for Altuve. The data and his teammates state that he did not cheat. He was a phenomenal hitter in the minors and earned his keep without cheating IMO. I am just not gonna believe some random buzzer rumor from Twitter
We got the equivalent of a 11 game losing streak for a 162 game season. Why not panic, nothing else has worked. Well... glad this is an asterisk season because we flat blow. We are the curdled cream of the crop. JV going down was a kick in the balls and they still have not dropped back down. Very disappointing.
MLB desperately needs the Yankees v Dodgers in the WS to still remain relevant. This season is a farce
It’s too early to panic, but not too early to be concerned. They need to be better, there are some glaring holes and a few guys really need to step it up, but it’s too early to panic. Right now, they’re just not good enough, but a lot can still happen and I think they’ll improve when some guys either come back or wake the F up.
Just saw Springtime @ Bombshells SW Freeway. The Stros are back in town !! Guy standing with the Astros hat.
Not even sure the season continues to be honest. Just a matter of time before they end it because of manfred’s incompetence
He may not be a big reason. The Astros have scored more than they have given up, and the veteran pitching is non-existant at the moment except for an even more than normal soft tossing Greinke that has to be perfect to survive and if one considers Valdaez a veteran. While managers don't have much influence macro scale, they have more in close and tight games. On injuries, it is tough to say 1-2 injuries is the team's fault, but with this many injuries, the Astros management, including Baker, have to take some of the responsibility.
Depressing performance so far. was hoping the team came into the season with a lot more fire than this. They hardly seem bothered. very disappointing so far.
