I'd be all for this if there weren't currently 3 rotation spots that might go 4-5 innings. I suppose one of them is going away with McCullers coming off the DL, but we can't be 100% on that outcome yet. I'd like to have the entire pen around still
Damn. I went out for a while and it was 11-1. 12-9? We got shelled. Still a win. Guess no lead is safe.
I mean... you could have left for ~7 minutes earlier in the game and seen the score go from 2-0 to 10-0. This was that many runs in a much, much longer amount of time
I understood exactly what you wrote. Jake had yet to do anything historically to show he would be a good leadoff man. Shoot, based on his power stats this year he should be hitting cleanup.
Well technically he has done something historically to show he would be a good leadoff man, if you count today's game as history.
I was surprised Diaz was even still on the team before tonight's outing. Surely he's done once McCullers is back, we should probably just release him outright.
I once said the same thing about Dan Straily. Diaz may be good to have around to face Roughned Odor if you know what I mean.
Just watching the game and Paulino's curveball is freaking wicked. Multiple times an A's player buckled and then gave a weak swing trying to make contact. If Paulino pitched all his games with that big outfield he could be an all-star. It would not surprise me if the A's asked for him in any Sonny Gray deal.
I thought the same thing the first time I saw Ricky Rubio. Like seriously I have never met the guy or heard him speak or know anything about him, but damn I want to punch him in the face.
He's been so bad in the major leagues. He's bounced around the minors for nearly a decade, you'd think he'd be about done but his historical overall AAA numbers are pretty good and his stuff isn't bad based on his strikeout rate. I just don't know what to make of the guy. He can't be as bad as he's looked so far, can he?! Dude's an enigma.
