Altuve is just straight up bad now. I’m not sure how he’s going to be playable the remainder of his contract.

 

If it means anything, Biggio had 0.4 bWAR and 88 OPS+ at age 36

Then came back with:

Age 37: 2.6 and 96
Age 38: 1.2 and 105
Age 39: 2.1 and 104

Those ages mirror this one and the other 3 remaining on Altuve's contract.

This team just isn’t good.

The bottom of our lineup is atrocious. Walker has fallen down to earth after a hot April with a .743 OPS in May and now a .669 OPS in June. Altuve should be batting 8th in an actual contending lineup.

God knows the Astros are really really trying. The effort is there, they aren’t lazy or complacent like many teams when their window closes… I really want this team to be good, but it isn’t… and the Astros aren’t Rocky Balboa and this isn’t the movies.

I hope Pena and Walker are renting.
