Can you make that one of those mini-bats? A regular bat up the ass would result in death.

Sad. The only consistent thing for the Angels is Mike Trout getting injured every season and missing most of each one. But, yea, a great player.

He's almost as good as Adam Everett was on D.

You're confused. Trout has had 600 PA in every season except one (2017) when he had 500 PA in every full season before this year. This is Carlos' second with 600 PA.

Must be. Maybe I was thinking of another player. Hmm. Sorry, Mike. Your team still sucks. Shame.

Albert Pujols maybe. They at least waived him so he could be an albatross for the Dodgers.

And really aren't much better with him. That's the shame of it. The guy could possibly have one of the greatest careers of all time...and never again sniff the playoffs.

Better than blowing out your Hamstring.

Sorry. I had to look up who Jalen Green was. I thought he might be one of those rappers I never pay attention to. But a mere Rocket with an injury.

Similar range, stronger arm for Correa. Errors about the same. Maybe it's recency bias but I wouldn't give Everett the edge defensively at this point.

Injured, but apparently intelligent. He had little nice to say about Detroit.

To be fair, I had to create my own defensive metric when Everett was here. They now have dWAR which should be a good, if not perfect tool to use for comparison.

    Adam Everett dWAR

    26 436 2003 2.2
    27 435 2004 2.5
    28 595 2005 3.3
    29 566 2006 4.1
    Injured

    Carlos Correa

    21 660 2016 1.6
    22 481 2017 1.6
    23 468 2018 1.9
    24 321 2019 1.4
    25 221 2020 1.0
    26 599 2021 2.7

It's very hard to remember how good Adam was before his injury. At the time, he was not appreciated by fans who couldn't care less about defense. Range Factor was still new and most people judged defense by error percentage. This hurt Adam more then most because he made almost impossible plays look easy, rather than difficult. He was the exact opposite of Derek Jeter who made easy plays look difficult and the press made him a Gold Glover for it.

I had to argue with Astros fans about his value on those teams.

Carlos may get there. He's already had a better age 26 season than Adam who was just beginning his run. There is certainly no doubt Carlos is the better overall player because of his offense. But I still give Adam the edge, for now.

Yep, Everett was a vacuum. I guess I am just so impressed with Correa's current season that I forget he hasn't been this good defensively before. That bouncer against the royals still haunts me though.

Anytime you've got to create your own metrics that tells me one thing, you're biased. Yes Everett was a very goof fielder with 0 GG's and was a AA hitter at best which combined with Ausmus contributed to the Astros being a one dimensional team that couldn't get over the hump in the playoffs.
