Not rare at all. It happened just a couple of weeks ago. White Sox catcher hit his first 3 HRs in the same game which included a grand slam. First time anyone hit their first 3 HRs in the same game.
2 weeks ago a guy for the White Sox hit his first 3 in the same game, 1st time in MLB history that's happened. 5 players have hit 2 in their 1st MLB game - Trevor Storey (2016), J.P. Arencibia (2010), Mark Quinn (1999), Bert Campaneris (1964) and Bob Nieman (1951). Not sure yet how many have done what Meyers did, but I'd think it's quite a few.
And if Meyers gets just a little more umph on his fly out, we're talking about something happening twice in 2 weeks that never happened before in MLB history. Wild. He's got 1 more shot (most likely)
See Dusty knows when to play guys. Meyers seems like a guy who gets too hyped. So Dusty doesn't tell him he was going to start until the day of earlier this week. Waited a week before he started him. Dusty playing mind games with Players and Fans...
Start Jake in CF the rest of the season. McCormick is a great 4th outfielder. Am I overreacting? Probably. Jake seems special though.
