had to head out. was super happy to see keuchel was left in for the rest of the 5th and into the 6th. (I figured if he pitched to Trout and Pujols, they should let him play out the lesser hitters. And if he got through that easily enough, give him 1 more as long as he stays out of trouble against the crappy guys.)
We've had his number the last 2 years. Has a better career ERA+ than the eventual HOFer Trevor Hoffman and an identical ERA.
Any Astros fans care to opine on Biggio 1998 vs. Altuve 2016? I was just 8 during the 1998 campaign, don't remember much. Hard to imagine Biggio being better than Altuve... 123 R, 210 H, 56 2B, 20 HR, 88 RBI, 50 SB, .325/.403/.906
yes, and the ump did not call the third strike on Correa, that helps, but like Great players do, he took advantage
Reports are that he would need a few weeks (I'd guess 2-4) to get his timing down. If he were to sign soon, he'd probably work his way to the big league team that signed him right around the trade deadline. So it would be like getting a boost at the trade deadline, without having to trade your best prospects to do so.
Sure, but if he signs tomorrow, it'll take him a month to just get here. I'm just thinking logistics of Sept 1. I never pay much attention to these guys other than in the offseason.
That makes much more sense than what I was thinking. What country was he having his workouts in? Not that it really matters at this point.
