.059 average 1 for 17 (a double) So, it was a good move as he does 2 things, gives a semi day off to Gomez as DH, and plays Marisnick. I think Hinch could had give Marisnick an at bat last night as a pinch hitter late, with a 6 run lead.

JD and Altuve were much better hitting prospects than anyone in Angels minor league system*. Keuchel was already in bigs by the time he was the age of their top pitching prospect. Edit: *Not counting the 2016 draft.
Ken rosenthal tweet: Yulieski Gurriel worked out for #Astros. Latest photo of him on his Instagram account shows him in a Houston cap.
1-17 with a 2B, 3 BB and 6 Ks Weaver is an extreme slopballer, some hitters just can't adjust their timing to guys like that.

No doubt. If they have no interest in bringing back Valbuena next year, and they don't think Moran is ready, and they might need a LF too (him or Bregman) he makes some sense. Yes bobrek, I know this is the wrong thread for this kind of talk.
I think that's the price of admission... you'd have to throw in top-level prospects, too. Correa *may* evolve into one of the game's best players; Springer may develop into a consistent, All-Star level player. Or... they might not. Trout is both of those things already; on course to be one of the greatest players to ever play the game. And he's younger than Springer. The haul would be historic or they'd never do it.
Nah, to the best of my knowledge the established Cubans are pretty solid on documentation, it was teenagers in the DR and elsewhere that were always sketchy.
Correa & Springer are already All-star level players, and have proven it. Sorry that you can't recognize that. Correa may evolve into a HOF-caliber player. Correa & Springer would be a historic haul. Hell, just Correa would be a historic haul.
Today Springer is going to have a big game, Reed will get on base at least twice, maybe first homer, and K is going to pitch 7 strong innings.
Agreed... and it wouldn't really make sense from either team's standpoint. Trout's contract is not preventing them from making other moves... and getting that sort of haul, while historic, doesn't necessarily make them that much younger or more ready to contend (and they lose a generational player... for a possible one). They need developmental pitching... something they can't really buy right now.
