Even though Correa has been slumping I still trust him in that spot more than White. All they needed was a fly ball or slow grounder. I knew White was either going to strike out or hit it into double play.
Jeez, bases loaded, one out. White taking strike one, swings at ball one. He might as well sat down at that point. Then Marwin hits one right at someone.
White's been fine... He's a rookie. The league's just been spoiled by young guys coming out of nowhere raking these days. We've seen the potential, but like with any young player -- apparently guys like Correa and K. Bryant included -- you're gonna see some regression before the next splurge of progression. I still say he'll end up a high OBP, solid contact hitter over the long-run. He's damn sure a better option than Tucker and Reed hasn't shown nearly enough to get the call up just yet.
Can Worth play 1st from the minors? I know Reed isn't ready but White isn't either. The Astros are just in a tough position right now with lack of hitting talent.
Calhoun would have hosed a 100mph laser beam to throw out the guy at home from the warning track via Vladimir Gurrero.
