only a matter of time before they would get to Feldman. If the Astros don't give him a lead, forget about it. It's pretty much inevitable that a team will start teeing off on him. This inning (5th) went pretty much as badly as one could expect. 3 runs in. Where's the composure!? Astros need to find a quality 3rd pitcher..desperately.
so someone explain why Hinch doesn't have Grossman bunt Preston tucker over to second? Instead, he gets a KO. When the team isn't hitting, you need to start getting creative!! Put some pressure on the pitcher. SMH
This has been Hinch's MO all year - wait for the home run instead of manufacture runs. It's going to cost us games this year IMO, hope he adjusts before the Astros start to have a barage of 0-2 run outputs as Marisnick cools down.
Down 3 in the 6th you don't bunt and play for 1 Now I'd like an explanation as to why Grossman is still on this team, but wouldn't have him bunt in that situation ever
Feldman has held his own just fine today... and btw, his numbers for the Astros the last two years would matchup well with any #3 starter in baseball. Offense is way too inconsistent right now... Grossman and Villar perhaps with their final run of games as Astros.
I agree in principle but if your team is hitless through 5 innings and the opposing pitcher is showing dominating stuff, you do IMO have to figure out ways to manufacture runs, create some havoc on the bases...also Grossman, a weak hitter is up to bat. A lot of of our base stealing has contributed to runs due to throwing errors and the pitcher getting distracted. I think its a key part of the game and would love to see Hinch go in that direction more.
We have been the most aggressive team in baseball on the basepaths I just can't see giving up an out down 3 in the 6th to a guy you don't have a hit on Grossman just isn't a major league caliber guy right now, no guarantee he gets the bunt down even if you ask him to
How can you say the team that leads baseball in steals, MO is to sit back and wait on the HR? We hit a lot of HR, but Hinch has us very aggressive
No one is picking up the breaking ball at all - he's hung several in the zone today, but all taken for strikes
