It cracks me up when people talk about how "bad" we are at home We are 23-16, that's a 59% winning percentage. That's a winning percentage that would win you 96 games in a full season. Only 5 teams in all of baseball have a better home record than ours, and only the Dodgers and D'Backs have a home record more than 2 games better than ours Our home OPS is .802, 8th best in baseball. Our pitchers home OPS against is .670, 2nd in baseball We have hit 61 HR at home, 4th highest in baseball Our pitchers have a 3.37 era at home, 2nd in baseball Our pitchers have a 1.14 whip at home, 2nd in baseball Just because we aren't winning 76% of our home games (that's our crazy road percentage) doesn't mean we have problems at home, we are damn good at home and Oakland is about to find that out!
Part of our lack of home record is because Keuchel and McCullers aren't pitching. They don't lose at home.
Last week when Astros faced the A's they were coming off a 4 game sweep of the Yankees, now they are coming off a 3 game sweep of the White Sox.
Castor wanted to thank you for all your efforts posting all of this for each series. Much appreciated!!!
I thought the broadcast last week said we had some amazing record versus Oakland this year and last... like we are 14-1 in the last 15 games... makes me feel pretty good.
Now post those same numbers, but for road. If you don't think something extra might be going on at home, you crack up your own self.
The road performance is the outlier... and is likely to level off as the season goes on. Likewise, they'll probably start hitting better at home.... but there's no reason to think they just forgot how to play at MMP. This was a bad road team/good home team throughout 2015-2016. (and in the end, they're not a bad home team now... they're just so damn good on the road that everything else pales in comparison).
